How to: Runes of Magic for Mac

Hey Mac users! Ever wanted to run Runes of Magic on your Macintosh? Here's an easy guide on how to make that happen.

1.Download Wineskin. Wineskin is a compatibility layer that allows you to install .EXE files onto your Mac.

2. Launch Wineskin and create a new wrapper. Label it RoM, or something related.
3.Move your wrapper to your desktop, so that it can be easily accessed. Click on that wrapper, go under Advanced, click Tools, then Winetricks.
4. Find and run: vcrun2005, vcrun2008, wininet and ie6.
5. Download Runes of Magic, and run the ROMSetup.exe. This process should act the same as the PC version.

6. Finish install; when asked, set the main .exe to Runes of Magic.exe. Finish patching, and launch the game.

WARNING: If you see a white or black screen, DO NOT panic. Just wait five minutes. It WILL eventually change to the login screen.

Once you're in game, you can change your screen settings, graphic settings, volume, etc.

I set mine to windowed so it would be easier to close down.

I am currently running Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Intel duo core.

RoM version: 3.0.10

@Phantom451208 I would love to upload this somewhere, but here's the problems I'm running into. First, my internet is horrible, running at 80 KB per second would take days to upload. Second, is finding a site that I can upload huge files to without paying.

If your wondering why the RoM client isn't working, it's because when you make the Wrapper file, your supposed to drag the Runes of Magic.exe file onto the Wrapper file. THEN Runes of Magic should start downloading.

The black screen actually just stays black, it doesn't even go away. Then it forces you to shut down your mac because you can't even exit out of the black screen.
