WOULD EVERYONE PLEASE GROW UP! America is dying because of people like you. People who watch bill o'reilly and others on this absolutely ridiculous network drop bomb after bomb on various issues and who have absolutely none, I repeat NONE of the knowledge they should have to comment on the things that they do. The news in America is a real problem, I would go so far to say as it is the reason why the country STILL to this day is seen by outsiders as ignorant. WAKE UP AMERICA.

@Xionc the (lack of) truth in the statements regarding pay by the reporter, and the obvious exaggeration of the dangers of MMA when clearly there are, according to solid facts and figures, other sports that are exponentially more deadly that mixed martial arts, and yet, there is no segment and no media coverage on fox news about them. Biased journalism is a virus. It infects peoples minds and fosters a culture of ignorance. Hence the dislikes for the videos.
-
@OgBJJ thank you, at last a decent comment on here. I was starting to get worried that not a single person on the face of this earth ever did any research beyond watching fox news. God help us all if our future rests in the power of the fox news people.
-
@2fromcenter which people? The ones speaking from a completely ignorant point of view toward this sport or those who actually know the facts and figures because they've bothered to research and find out exactly what it is that happened here?
-
@chewyandjasper do you know how much they get paid? I assume, yet again, like many of the people here who post comments you speak from a position of ignorance and misguidance, caused by the misrepresentation of the sport of MMA by good old Fox "we'll do anything for ratings" news.

@eddyjawed oh yes and lastly did you read up on this guy? the doctor instructed him BEFORE the fight NOT to fight because why? He had an ANEURYSM! I wouldn't even go swimming or ride a bike if I had one! Let alone get in a cage and trade blows! Sorry, but not all blame can go on the sport. That was suicide, man.
-
@eddyjawed so therefore, if we are to be fair, we'd have to ban every sport that is deemed to be dangerous by your measuring stick (which is, probably an ignorant point of view). Only if you've trained and trained and then trained some more, dieted to the point of collapse, and mentally driven through the pain of it all, would you understand why it is so important to prove yourself as the best in the world.
-
@eddyjawed by your assertion I can only assume you speak from ignorance. Sport, by its very nature, is physical, rather than mental competition. i.e. Utilising the body to perform a function and beat competitors while obeying rules. As it stands today, this sport has no fatalities in the UFC, where there are excellent referees and strictly enforced rules. And, comparatively, this sport does not even make it to the "top 10 deadliest sports" list, which includes rock climbing, and scuba diving.
-
Ban the sport, this is barbaric, we shouldn't be supporting this.

i agree better pay for these dudes we all with we could perform like them

@adammadison30 listening to this whole health insurance debate is so weird for people from northern europe.
over here having a health insurance is like being able to tie your shoes or eating with a fork. it's nothing special, everyone has it.
so hearing that these guys, these elite athletes you see on television are (/were) not provided with health care ist just...
i don't know. it's sad.
