I first heard this song on NPR and was enchanted by the harmonies and the haunting lyrics. Everyone has known a place where we see ghosts in every corner and memories speak to us from the shadows. The song was written by Marc Alcorn and this version comes from the CD "Whatcha Gonna Swing Tonight". All pics come from picfinder.com - a great place to find royalty free photos.

  • most beautiful version of this song...extremely well performed imho :)

  • LOL! Marc Alcorn did NOT write this. Words & Music by Billy Rose & Basil Adlam, 1934. It was recorded by a number of artists back in the 1930s. Beautiful rendition here that seems to be copied from the Boswell Sisters version from the 30s.

  • I first heard this song by Mel Torme, but he doesn't do the introduction as it appears here. Thanks for posting!

  • thats's where my dad herad it and then my dad bought the CD and i herad it. It's REALLY GOOD!

  • Ah yes. I first heard this song on A Prairie Home Companion's Halloween show last year. It stayed in my head for weeks before I broke down and bought a copy of it.
