Frankel kept his unbeaten tag by holding on to win the St James's Palace Stakes by three quarters of a length from the fast-closing Zoffany, with German Guineas winner Excelebration third.
@MrNativeDancer Sea Bird (1965 ) ran before the international classifications were introduced ( 1977 ). However, Timeform already rate Frankel at 143 - two pounds behind Sea Bird ( 145 ). Even so, Frankel, as yet, has not won beyond a mile. Sea Bird is arguably the greatest 12 furlong turf horse ever, and even if Frankel does surpass the great French colt's 145 figure, few will consider him better at that distance.
horses just can't go with her! Starspangledbanner, wouldn't get a whiff of her rear end! And that's no overstatement. Yeah I know, your lesser performed stayers win G1's in Australia, I don't doubt that, that's our whole breeding scene up shit creek, Emphasis is on speed and winning Golden Slippers to make stallions, all I'm saying is she would beat/eat Frankel, but she'll never get the chance!
7f-8f? Shite, she'd even run 1m and 2. When's he's plodding his last furlong in 15, Luke Nolen will be getting his mug ready for the photo! He can make her chase as much as he wants, he won't break her, she's had G1 Aus Sprinters off the bit at the 800m, most of which would make a mockery of your plodders over there. Yeah you have great 4000m horses like Yeats and Alandy and Septimus and you're European bred horses dominate our staying races, but she will take all before her,
Sad thing is, BC will go and destroy those cart horses in a Jubilee or a July Cup, which is a money-in-the-bank Newmarket Hcp (with probably 9-6 or 60kg) in her own backyard, but enjoyable enough to watch. Hopefully Mood's heads to Dubai on the way and annihilates them first, then decide to bypass those piss weak sprints at Royal Ascot and head to the US which would be great for racing! And Frankel? She'd beat Frankel that is that, I'd like to see him try and get her off the bit!!
@MrNativeDancer ...have been over the one distance and against his own age, part from the Sussex Stakes. Like everyone else, I want to see him thoroughly tested against the A-league ths year. I don't regard his perfromances as having been superior to Black Caviar. I would have them equal on around 132 to 135, as they were until the Sussex. Neither it or the QE2 merit a higher mark.
@MrNativeDancer ...the first furlong in slower than even time and the last in just under 12.5 secs, which means that it was ostensibly a solid 6f sprint. At Goodwood, which is downhill from the 4f, he ran considerably slower than last years editions. Slow times characterise all of Frankel's wins. Now I know the arguments about his guineas win - the wind, etc - but he beat nothing in that filed. Not one of the vanquished went on to leave a mark. And Frankel's biggest tests..
@MrNativeDancer We'd all have to concede that he is the best miler in the World today, taking a line through the Brit/Euros that raced in Japan and Hong Kong. His breeding also suggest that he will handle 10f without any trouble. There remains a nagging doubt about his capacity to handle the kind of sustained speed we saw in the Champion Stakes or the Arc. His wins at Goodwood and Ascot, although visually impressive, were a little hollow. In the QE2, they ran ...
@SvendBosanvovski Frankels official BHA Rating is 135. I just dont get the figures Timeform come up with LOL They on another planet hehehe The Official Rating is the more scientifically accurate ratings based on what they have beat and what the beaten have achieved etc I think the Official rating of 135 is about right, I had him on 136 so there you go hehe

Does any one else think that Frankel could improve 10lbs and draw level with Sea Bird?
