@mrwebber35 Obama's system isn't economically viable though. He has DOUBLED our national debt in 3 years in office. Eventually there's going to be a time where we have to pay our bills and China isn't going to foot the bill for us (by buying US treasuries at very low interest rates) forever. We can't raise taxes too much more because it will result in LESS tax revenue (businesses will move offshore to pay less tax). Money printing is the last (and most pernicious!) option.
@mrwebber35 The US is definitely devaluing the dollar. I believe in those who say that it's our government looking to promise stuff to the public in exchange for votes. But where do they get the money to finance this spending? Raising taxes won't get a politician re-elected. Treasury bills allow us to borrow money. The other option is money printing. Ron Paul calls that last option the "hidden inflation tax" because, when the quantity of money rises, so do prices (eventually!)
@doublek321 Larry Edelson says US conspiracy to devalue the American $ like China devalued the Yuan. This kept China products cheap for sale abroad. He also says US owes $145 Trillion. He's not only off by a decimal place, he says America is in cahoots with China as well. This is the Republican Party that wants this as AMerica's future, not Obama.Obama wants Unionised labour, Repubs want cheap non-union workers.Obama wants healthcare like Canada, Reps want individules to pay their own
@mrwebber35 It takes time for the new money to work its way through the system and increase prices. It's hard to see prices rising as it happens. Peter Schiff uses the analogy of looking at yourself in the mirror day-to-day and not seeing a change. But compare your face to a picture of yourself from 5 years ago and you see a difference. Did you know that if you price oil in gold, it has barely gone up (and this is true over DECADES). Priced in dollars, though, it's way up.
