The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship at birth to all individuals born in the United States or in U.S. jurisdictions, according to the principle of jus soli. It is a fact that under the provisions of Article Two of the U.S. Constitution, naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of president, but this disqualification does not apply to Barack Obama, who has been a citizen since birth under jus soli, because he was born on US soil.

Senator Sinema thank you for explaining clearly and eloquently about the U.S law on citizenship requirements for the republican nuts!.
You're smart and intelligent and no doubt our upcoming young leaders for tomorrow.
Thank you for supporting and standing up for President Obama, the smartest president America has seen in many years. Lastly we all pray for your good friend and equally talented congresswoman, district #8 Gabrielle Gifford as you both are Democratic party leaders of tomorrow.

very interesting perspective. a perspective many of your constituents will have a disagreement with you on so many points on your position. Have a wonderful day.

Just to clarify (I am not taking sides here) -
Anchor babies are NOT Natural Born Citizens.
Not by the requirements set forth in the Constitution.
In order to qualify as Natural Born both parents must be citizens.
So, the children of an anchor baby (assuming they marry another legal citizen) would be Natural Born Citizens, but the parents can never be.
@greggmann1 I take it you're a birther?

Re: The AZ bill, if you look closer, it is not necessarily about a presidential candidate providing a Birth Certificate. The bill will make a candidate prove they are a "natural born citizen." In Obama's case, being born in Hawaii doesn't satisfy that clause of the constitution. Both his parents must be citizens as well. There is a group out of Conn.that has done an enormous amount of research on the subject, do a search: undead revolution natural born citizen.
