@zvermilyer3 I totally agree, when the movie was made in 87, homosexuality wasn't on most people's minds like it is today. Especially kids. This movie was done in the old school tradition of brotherly or sisterly type of love, especially in family films. I think kids were allowed to be kids more in the 80s standards than they are today and it was a bit more innocent, especially in family films. None of the crap you see on disney today.
@halfdude It is voiced by a woman, but Toaster is referred to a "guy" and a "he" throughout the movie. During the waterfall scene, when they were wondering what happened to Toaster, lamp said he thought "he" sank. Though I believe the whole "gay" thing is created by those who choose to see it that way. I believe it was totally unitended by the director. They are appliances in the first place.
Any gay implications in this scene are almost certainly unintentional. I always thought of the Toaster as being like an older brother to the Blanket. Although, I must admit that the tone of the Lamp's voice does make it sound like he's insinuating something...
"That's very interesting........good night slot-head."

1:17 I love it when Lampy screams how he lost the light bulb.

You know if Toaster was a girl (since he's voiced by a girl), he or "she" wouldn't be gay for Blankey, more like straight if you ask me.
