  • @kefkaROX They base their projections on exit polls, where votes have come in, where they are outlying, how candidates have performed in their perceived strongholds, etc. So, likely what happened here was McCain ran ahead in some rural areas of the state, which got their results in first, but the results from Ann Arbor, Detroit and other Democratic strongholds weren't in. Plus, the McCain forces pulled out of MI a month before the election, and handed it to Obama.

  • I know, right! Obama was ahead by a landslide. Should've just left the check mark there for Ohio.

  • Might as well would've left that check mark next to OH. He was ahead by a landslide with 3%. It should not have been a surprise.

  • because it was with only 4% of michigan's total vote in.

  • wait...... how did obama win michegan when mccain was leading there with over 50% of the vote?

  • I love how they removed Ohio and then had to put it right back a few minutes later. Good work Fox.

  • The results they had in were probably from precincts that went even more Republican in the last election. Plus, networks' calls were also based on exit polling throughout the state, which in Michigan must have shown a strong Obama lead.

  • it's probably because of the area those results came from, if it was a typical Republican area of the state, only a 53-45% lead would be a HUGE blow to McCain, so they called it for Obama.

  • At 8:30pm. Obama had 52% and Mccain had 46% of the vote in Michigan.
