http://www.RenegadeHealth.com - I honestly never knew a pomelo (pummelo) existed until today.

I guess it's probably because I'm from the East Coast and no really eats them there--at least none of my friends.

When I saw one today at the Santa Monica Farmer's market I thought it was a grapefruit. I was psyched to learn more from the farmer and then share the info with you.

It might be my new favorite fruit. :-)

If you don't know what a pomelo is--or if you want to have a laugh at my expense when I squirt citrus juice in my eye--go ahead a take a look...

  • why is it that no matter where you squeeze the fruit(lemons, tomatoes) always squirt your eyes.

  • Dayum, you make my mouth water after that show. However, that's one tiny Pomelo i've ever seen. They come much bigger than that, twice that size. It's really good and the section skin, peels so easily unlike grapefruit, and no it's not bitter either. Clean it up, put it in a bowl and sprinkle it with salt. It's a tasty snack.

This one's a quince. can't wait to try it!!

  • You are going to have to move to Humboldt county Eureka/Arcata. You are very natural

  • its smells like Jasmine flower and citrus fruit together

  • I just peeled 2 pomelos here in Singapore. They are huge, hard and green. You have to use a knife, it's impossible to peel by hand and the sections are encased in really thick skin, so then you have to take a knife and then peel that off too.

But I love pomelo and they are sweet and delicious! Not sure why Kevin's is so small and more like grapefruit!
