  • The phrase "They don't make 'em like that anymore" certainly applies to Irene Dunne! She was a star who had it all: elegance, class, intelligence, poise, a great voice, musicality, wit, spunk...just everything. The final moments of this clip show such charisma that every wannabe actress of today should study them, and then humbly say: "I've still got a long way to go, before I reach that level."

  • she,s beautiful.

  • she should have been able to make records, cos I would have bought them!

  • Is this from "Love Affair"? As much as I like Dunne, I just do not like that story. I'll have to record just the music next time it's on TCM. :-) There is no one like Dunne and too many people now don't appreciate what a great singer she was.

  • God, she was stunning. Thanks for uploading this, violinthief.

  • @Schmexaay1592 I wish too. I'm 18 and people call me grandma all the time just because I like watching the old movies. I think it just shows that I have a appreciation of the past. I was teaching my mom how to do the charleston. Now that's not right. lol. I know more than her.

  • This is the kind of movie that made you americans the kings of the celluloid. It was all about class and distinction. Sadly all that seems to be gone. Today's movie stars are unbearably untalented and and. So came on americans, I want those days back! That's why I admire you so much. As for Mme. Dunne she deserved to win the Oscar in 1938. VIVA LA DUNNE. What a pity she lost to the untalented Louise Rainer, who is for me one of the most mediocre actress I've ever seen. VIVA LA DUNNE

  • she's the best, my queen, my idol, my role model. Irene forever! I love you!

  • She was so beautiful and talented - definitely my favorite actress of all time.

  • So glorious.

  • What a sad song. Everything about this song plays it's part so well, from the happy beat to it's sad lyrics. It's like the music is what she's showing but the lyrics is what she feels. So emotional.

  • This song....it's so upbeat but so sad. It's all true. It's wonderfully heartbreaking.
