Dr. William H. Parker of http://www.fibroidsecondopinion.com/ performs a laparoscopic myomectomy for a woman with an 8 cm fibroid. The surgery was transmitted live to 1,500 international attendees at the Global Congress of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Orlando, Florida. The operation took one and half hours to perform, but the procedure is edited to 4 minutes to show the key steps. Surgery was very successful, the patient went home the same day (outpatient surgery), and recovered to full activity within one week.
@MSiarom The procedure went what is considered to be normal. The incision hurt so bad afterwards that I couldn't even walk! It took a good 4 weeks before I felt some what normal. Now I'm feeling like myself before the fibroid entered my life! The scar has nearly dissapeared...which I'm shocked and happy at the same time! I'm hust grateful that I had help during the healing process, Also..I made sure not to sneeze no matter how bad I wanted to in order to avoid scar tissue and I think it works...

I'm getting this done in about six hours...I'm so nervous so I started researching what the procedure looks like. I'm still scared but I noticed little to no bleeding so that makes me feel that it really isn't going to be that bad. Thanks for sharing this with us!!!!

Thank you for this video. I had 3 large fibroids removed about 5 days ago. I went home the next day. I wish I watched this video sooner. I have so many questions for my surgeon now.

Thanks! I'm going in for one in two days and I've watched several - this one is definitely the best, most helpful one - not to mention being a fairly neat one as far as surgery goes ;)
