If McHattie didn't have a duck-billed mouth he would have made a great JDean. He acted more like Dean to me here than Franco did. I didn't like Franco as Dean ONE bit. Sorry.

The self-titled James Dean biopic was good, well at least, Franco did a good job. But it's clear Franco didn't have the same charm and magnetism. I didn't like how they portrayed him to be violent and basically psychotic.

Is it true that the Joshua Tree one coming out will have a lot more to do with his sexuality? There are rumors about him being gay, him being in love with Pier, him just wanting to experiment, etc. It doesn't make a diff to me, but I only heard about these rumors recently

That scene with the 3 of them in the coffee shop round the 55 minute mark about James Dean hating New York is bullshit. JAMES DEAN LOVED NEW YORK. He called it home. There's a lot of bullshit in this TV movie. But then again what do you expect from a cheesy 1970's TV Movie. William Bast is a hack writer who needs to get over his obession with his late friend. Watch the great Documentary that came out around the same time as this. James Dean America's First Teenager. You'll get the real JD in it.
