Gold Fish: Patrick and Goldie

Our fish: Goldie and Patrick. Goldie used to be gold. Shortly after I plunked a new coral rock into the tank, it turned white (not sure if it is related but I do suspect). Patrick is an acrobat as you see here... swims upside-down and occasionally bathes in the fish filter water. Nice to watch. :)

Thank you. Yes, he loved the peas and is doing much better already. :) I will look into getting them an airstone as well.

Pretty fish : ) Patrick looks like he may have some swim bladder problems. Fasting your fish 1 day a week, then feeding peas the next day can help. Also, if you feed flakes or floating pellets I would recommend switching to sinking pellets (floating food can cause gulping at the surface, which can further floaty problems). Swim bladder problems can become chronic over time so you'll want to keep an eye on it. You should check out kokos goldfish .com : ) There's a good forum there if you have Q's

He is probably constipated. Give him a few thawed frozen peas with the outer shell taken off for a couple days. An airstone would help him too. Good luck!
