Lailo, Born LaiShawn LaBorde is an inspiring and dedicated artist. Starting out at the age of nine gave Lailo an early passion for the love of music. Growing up in the projects of Long Island City, Queens then later moving to Long Island, gave Lailo another way of looking at life, and more ideas and experiences to write and rap about. At the age of fourteen, Lailo, not only made his first track, but he also was featured on an artist album that also had appearances with industry artists such as Erica Sermon of EPMD, and Capone from Capone N Noreaga. After the experience of recording with older and more experienced artist Lailo attended Brookhaven Technical Center in Bellport, NY, and took a class for audio production. Attending audio production taught Lailo how to be more creative, and write better songs. The purpose of the class was to learn how engineer and create music for not only your self but for others to listen to an enjoy. During that time Lailo began to work on his first project that is now known to some as "Finally Heard". This album would be the first cd Lailo put together his self and would be used only as a "rough draft" just to see how he would sound. The next project was called "Back in Tha Booth". This cd was mixed down and produced better than the first. Lailo then began to sell this cd to other students in school and around his neighborhood. People then recognized and looked at Lailo as an artist. At that time Lailo was on his way to graduate High School, and it would be harder for him to record, being that he wasn't able to go to the audio production class anymore and wasn't working so didn't have money for studio time. On top of that his parents just brought a house in NJ and moving out there shortly. Now being around absolutely nothing, Lailo had no choice but to write verses and songs everyday until he was able to record again. His uncle would take him to his friends studio in Maryland where Lailo would record songs for free, but it wasn't often, so Lailo had to get a job full time and rap part time. Being in NJ, and away from all his family and friends got the best of Lailo. On top of that, he really wasn't seeing eye to eye with his parents so Lailo left. He moved in with his best friend, then his aunt until he and his fiancé got there own place. After he was finally situated, Lailo started to record his third solo album that he would call "Hard Work N Dedication" and his group album that would be called "More Than A Local Buzz" . Lailo a couple of his friends from school and his neighborhood formed a rap group called New Breed and made a record label called AllStarr Entertainment. So far in his early stages of becoming a successful recording artist, Lailo has done shows and venues throughout Long Island and Queens, recorded in studios and worked with many artists from different states. Although this may seem like a lot for an independent underground artist such as himself, this is only the beginning............
