Smile, You're on Candid Camera
Ray Dahrouge - Sam Siciliano

I know a guy and his name was Hank.
He decided he would rob a bank.
He said no one will ever know...
became the star of a TV show.
Just as he started to get away,
then he heard somone say,
"Smile, you're on Candid Camera"

I know a girl and her name was Fran.
She decided she would cheat on her man.
She said no one will ever know.
I think I'll make it to the show with Joe.
Just as she was halfway there,
someone said, "Hey, lookit over there!"
"Smile, you're on Candid Camera"

Don't you laugh at a story that's true.
One of them, it could have been you.
When you're thinking no ones on the scene,
You just might end up on the TV screen.

I know a lot of people so do you,
who do a lot of things that they shouldn't do.
So just remember when you decide,
you just might end up on a nationwide.
For those who think that crime does pay,
you just might hear someone say,
"Smile, you're on Candid Camera"

  • Back in Red Bank, these guys could really rock, despite the appearance that "white men can't dance," as shown in this lip synch performance. Check this link for better songs by these surf heroes of Monmouth County.

  • Yeah, they were definitely "cleaned up" a bit for this appearance. I can remember them doing a great version of the Standell's "Dirty Water". There are some more mp3s and some pics here: lowetax DOT com/The-Mods/

  • is this really from 1966, or is a retro recreation?

  • Holy crap! I actually remember when I dressed like that in high school.I was 15 in 1966. It was called the "collegiate" or "preppy" look. White Levi's and a blazer were ultra cool then.Especially for catholic school kids like me.After graduation, a lot of us grew our hair shoulder length and started hanging out at the Upstage Club in Asbury Park playing a very different kind of music. These things are fun to watch by geezer boomers like me.Too bad the song was so lame.Where did you get it, Tom ?

  • Thanks for the info...:)
