@viperdude281 I was also suprised, i expected 2:30. A man with this physical condition --> and than 3:00 was not a good time.Seems totally different bicycle racing and running.

I think what people don't realize is that before he really got into cycling and competing in the Tour De France he was a marathon runner as well as a triathlete and he even won some awards for best young triathlete.

Maybe Lance would have won Ironman but without EPO and/or blood transfusion he would never be able to climb mountain with real climber, so he would never have won a single TDF. Of course he would have continued to do well on classics or on race without high mountain.

too bengals above an ironman is something you have to be quality all round your not going too accomplish by being good at a bike its a start but it doesnt get you through the 3 mile swim and the marathon after a hundred mile cycle!
Wow, kudos to him. He looked like he was in some serious pain there. Running's not as nice to the bones as cycling.
