There were 839 entrants to this years main event. Each paid $10,000 to enter what was the largest poker tournament ever played in a brick and mortar casino at the time. Many entrants, including the overall winner, won their seat in online poker tournaments.

  • hes probably still on tilt, 5 years later

  • There was no reason for the chip leader to put 600,000 into a pot with A high. Even if he thought A high was good, at best, it was only a coin flip and at worse he's going up against a set.

  • Stupid tiltplay with the kings!

  • "walks away with $80k he can easily spend that over the next few hours on the strip of vegas" lmao

  • @GialloHorror Yeah and if you think about it there were 839 entrants in 03 and upwards of 8300 in 2010. prize money seems about even

  • 65,000 for 13th. Dam man,m you finish 13th now, you get like $650,000.

Amazing how poker changed after this main event

  • @snowstormcan that was a breakthrough moment and a good call he could have been a very big chipleader

you cant just sit fold and wait that guy played

  • lol dutch boyd wearing a napster t shirt, this is vintage

  • that is what happen when you got tilt

  • Farha is such a strange player, especially with his eyeliner and cigarette.

He is always playing poor hands, like the A-rag at 7:45, calls without concern that Dutch has an ace with better kicker, calls allins with K2 not caring that he only draws to one card instead of 2 against a pair.

  • Reminds me of a hand in Gus Hansen's book during the Aussie Millions when he pushes all in after a reraise from a guy holding ak high while he has a big stack. He wins the hand and it was key to him winning that tournament. The big difference of course, is that he pushed all in rather than calling, this just makes me scratch my head, even if he was right like he was.
