the Hook Sushi and Martini Bar, located at Daisy Mountain and Anthem Way, is an Asian gem of a restaurant, created by Seattle transplant Andreana Daniels and her husband Roger. Andreanas team of masterminds includes financial partners Jeff and Jennifer Wallen (Hmm—does one of those names sound familiar? Well, it should— Jennifer was one of the stars on this seasons hit TV show, The Apprentice); master of sushi Jeff Richmond, who was the head sushi swami for nearly a decade at the IPO Kona Grill; super-sashimi-slicer Blaine Scrubby Smith, also from Kona Grill; and a number of servers. The facilitys luminous façade promises something exciting inside. The eclectically designed interior is unique, inviting, and intimate. The rooms focal point is the elongated bar that serves sushi and beverages, and the illuminated back bar is stacked with a high stock of bottled libations.

The first lure in Off the Hooks tackle box is their creative martini menu. We cast a few lines and landed a whopper every time. The frothy Creamsicle was both creamy and dreamy, with Skyy vanilla and orange vodkas infused with cream, triple sec, and orange juice; and the glass rimmed with bright yellow and orange rock sugar. Prepared with Skyy melon vodka, Hypotiq cognac, and pineapple juice, and rimmed with a rainbow of flavored sugars, the Lucy in the Skyy tini will certainly leave you with kaleidoscope eyes. The Bomb Pop tini with Skyy berry vodka, Blue Curacao, raspberry liquor, and a splash of lemon-lime soda was highly recommended by our dining neighbor as lollipopalicious! The ultimate dessert drink—the Chocolate Mist—is a rich liquid self-indulgence. The martini glass is lined with strings of rich chocolate and fi lled with a mixture of Kahlua, coconut rum, and Frangelico. It would make Willy Wonka scream and his Oompa Loompas go red in the face. Off the Hook also off ers a wide variety of red and white wines, champagne by the glass, a variety of hot and cold sake, and the Sake Bomber—a beer and sake mixture.http://www.offthehooksushiaz.mobi
