This is one of the 55Gs in my dining room right now. Filtration consists of 2 penguin 350 biowheel HOB filters for a total of 700gph turn over. (Yes goldfish need that much filtration) It's planted with Echinodorus cordifolius (Radican Sword), Ludwigia repens, Cabomba, water sprite, and Anubias barteri. Live stock consists of cherry shrimp, blue and gold mystery snails, freshwater clams, and 3 goldfish

Background on the fish: The 2 moors (the black[Sachi] and the panda[Yin]) are rescues and the red&white short tailed ryukin[Ayako] is a gift from a friend. The moors I am keeping as my personal pets and are not available for re-homing.

Those looking for help with sick fish please feel free to message me. I've been keeping and studying fish for 23yr with 9yrs devoted to aquatic rehabilitation. And if I can't answer your question I can help you find some one who can.

  • Hello again! Thank you so much for the great advice! My fishies love the spinach and bananas and have stopped uprooting the plants and tearing them up. They take a little nibble every now and then, but nothing that I wouldn't have trimmed off in a regular plant grooming anyway.

  • @Nekokohime You're welcome dear! I'm glad they're doing well!

  • is that the black moor u saved from the evil walmart pet section

  • @coolecoolcool No it's not the same fish. I found Sachi in a cart in the parking lot of walmart. Some one "apparently" bought her and then forgot her as they were loading up their car. Amaya was the black moor from the other video. She was adopted out to a nice lady who spoils her rotten. ^_^ I try to avoid the pet section of my local walmart when ever I can b/c I just get sick looking at all the death and disease.

  • hi olivia , your fishes looks great ! i make a gel food yesterday .. with fresh vegetables like green peas , spinach , zuccini . piece of garlic , and baby foods as green peas , carrots , strawberry/apples , sweet potatos ... as protein i put pro- gold pellets , what you thing about my gel food ? i feed my goldfish this morning and they like it ...

  • Ewes man the panda was in the middle of crap in

  • @magscat3161

Thank you! I'll give that a try. I had a tadpole for a while and was feeding him spinach and they gobbled it up too, so I know I can definitely get them to eat that. I have some oranges in the fridge right now as well ^_^

  • @Nekokohime Tetra products are actually kind of crummy. It would be like you eating nothing but fast food all the time. Much like people, goldfish need a varied diet. Fancy goldies do best on a mostly veggie diet giving meaty food at most 3 times a week depending on what you want out of your fish. If you start introducing your fish to things like peas, oranges, spinach, and bananas for starters they will probably stop bothering your plants.

I alternate every other day with TetraFin Goldfish Flakes and Tetra PondFood floating soft sticks.
