Spåmans Big Band in Thad Jones - Central Park North

Private recording of a Youth band from Rättvik, Sweden 1976. From the first time we heard Thad Jones & Mel Levis Big Band we knew what to aim for. Never there of course but a lot of fun.

it sounds good as long as you don't compare it with the original by the Jones Lewis Band. I can say It's quite a very difficult chart according to the copy I bought several years ago

Dandiacal! As I've played so much in my days, my ears are destroyed and I can't listen to any music now. BUT, at once you mentioned those four chords, I immediately got them in my head! Thanks! Now I'm flowing... Many of those kids and girls ARE proffs instrumentalists and/or teachers today. Spåman himself is active in (Swedish) "Saxomania", as I was 5-12 years ago. Keep swingin' and take care of your ears!

I played this chart too, in high school: those great chords that Thad wrote for the piano before the ballad B section. Except for the electronic skipping, you guys sound GREAT here. What happened to all of you? Great articulation, funk playing!
