The Great Plains Chautauqua, which features scholars portraying historical figures, will be presented June 1-6 in Elk City.

The event is free of charge.

"From Sea to Shining Sea," Lewis and Clark, and the "Corps of Discovery" will be presented.

The event features history scholars, educational workshops, local entertainment and the spirit of an old-fashioned community social.

Daily workshops will be held at the Old Town Opera House. Nightly performances are under the giant tent on the museum grounds west of Ackley Park.
