The pull is more effective, for a couple of reasons. For one, the human body can pull faster than it can push! Also it is easier to see the long hole on the pull than the push, because it is the long hole is right in front of you instead of across the table.
Nice shot you just need to work on exploding on the take off. It is not like a pull were you build up lateral speed. You need a explosive take off! Check out my push shot. You need to sit on the ball perfectly still then blast off.
I'm a pusher and uses torpedo table as well. and just so you know this is not really a good push shot. Just saying so that u can improve on it. the main problem is theres too much acceleration in the shot and is very blockable!! =P
I'm also a push shooter and I don't do it open handed... all in the wrist.
However, this shot is done on a Torpedo table, a replica of Tornado table. It could be easier to shoot on a Torpedo due to the playfield. However on a Tornado, this shot is pretty hard to master.
nice shot, but you have to decrease delay near the beginning of the push motion, this way your opponent will have no tell when to react, right now the defender can read you easily

Are pull or push shots more effective and why?
