Irans clerical leadership on Friday stepped up a campaign to silence opposition claims that protesters had been raped in prison, with prayer leaders in at least three major cities denouncing the accusations and their chief sponsor.

Azam said Kazemi showed obvious signs of torture, including:

-Evidence of a very brutal rape.

-A skull fracture, two broken fingers, missing fingernails, a crushed big toe & a broken nose.

-Severe abdominal bruising, swelling behind the head & a bruised shoulder.
