This is my band recording Dragonaut by Sleep for a college project.

Here's the gear we used for anyone who wants to know:

I'm playing a stock Epiphone G-400 Iommi tuned to B standard running through a blonde Fender Hot Rod Deville 410 (Jensen blue speaker edition) with no effects other than a Line 6 DL4 delay pedal in the effects loop. The bass is a Squire 5 string with active pickups and it's played though a Fender Rumble 100. The kit is your average cheapo Dixon kit with Sabian B8 hi-hats, ride, and crash.

And here's what I did to record:

The recording turned out quite amazing considering I recorded this in a very amateur way. There are only 3 microphones: one is hanging on a hook above the kit to get the drums, one is on my amp, and the one good mic (SM58) is used for the vocals. All this is going into a little Behringer mixer with built in effects, Digidesign Mbox 2, Macbook Pro, Logic Pro 8. As far as editing goes, I just put on one of the mastering presets with some compression and slight reverb. Oh and the bass signal was split with a Radial ABY so I could record a dry bass signal direct in to the Mbox but still hear it in the practice. I'm using one of the presets in Logic for bass modelling.
