While shooting my independent film in Cuba's countryside, I decided to take a break and play some tunes with my newfound family. The song, "Café en el Campo" written by Juan Luis Guerra is about his dreams of it raining coffee in the poor countryside of the Dominican Republic (my parent's native country).

It hadn't rained in three months in Campechuela... Five minutes after playing this song, the rain came pouring down! It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life!

Enjoy!

  • Cuba looks like a beautiful place. I really like the shots you chose to cross cut with the musicians. I'm a freshman at NYU and trying to pick where I might go for study abroad. Cuba looks like a very intriguing place. Good job.
