Actually, Mac OS X is built off BSD/UNIX. BSD is similar to Linux.

@csiew88 well yes but the one used the most (windows) is targeted the most so microsoft made antivirus software build in to windows

@thecomputerman12121 Well security means, it's because better anti-viruses are coming out, and with HUNDREDS of these patches, Windows gets 'plumped'...and to be honest, ALL OS's are almost the same, UNIX, Linux, BSD, Mac, Windows, etc... all are really the same the way they work. And to be honest, all of them are vulnerable....

@csiew88 well, i mean windows is rising by security means. before people used macs more because they were WAY more secure too use. Now windows is catching up in security. The funny thing about microsoft is, they give out really good utilities in express edition for free, and then right after that get fined millions of dollars. What's so funny about this? simple. They only charge microsoft around 3 million dollars and thats pocket change for them...

@thecomputerman12121 well, yes certainly, Windows IS getting a LITTLE more stable, but really, I think Windows 7 is the 'final frontier'... And you're right, the Mac had its days, but honestly, if you actually read the news more often, neither Windows or Mac are rising, ONLY Linux.

@csiew88 yeah... and windows is getting way more stable by the day (loads of upgrades) and also with every release now there is a big jump forward in security.... Mac has won for a while with what people think of it, but now linux and windows are rising....

@thecomputerman12121 well, i do have to say, the Mac is like the Windows of the Unix world... very unstable... i have to admit, I'd rather get a Linux PC than a Mac now a days...

@csiew88 mac is (or used too me, correct me if im wrong.) Unix which is different then GNU which linux is gnu but if bsd is what mac is based on like you said they are similar but linux just does it better.
