While filming the family reunion at my cousins house in Jackson, I caught this baby Bald Eagle making its first flight. They had been watching it for days from their backyard with binoculars and a spotting scope, and I was just lucky enough to be there with my camera set up when it happened. I only had to watch for about 45 minutes when it tried out its new wings. I was told that 50% of baby bald eagles crash and most die on the first flight attempt. Video is a bit shaky because I was shooting handheld 100 yards away at full zoom, manual focus. Priceless shot. Closes with a shot of the proud parent sitting and looking on.
