is smaller than the box area: Not really, but you should still crop the sprite (transform tab, then click crop)
has an odd number of pixels in its width: No.
is sized to keep it looking 8 bit: No.
or is leaning on one side of the box: Crop the sprite.

@shapen360 try press "G" while editing the sprite, that shoud do it.

does it matter how the sprite:
*is smaller than the box area
*has an odd number of pixels in its width (ex: 13 pixels wide on a 32 bit box)
*is sized to keep it looking 8 bit (i want to make an atari styled game)
*or is leaning on one side of the box (ex: a small sprite in one corner of the box)
these are the only questions keeping me at a dead wall. if you or someone else could respond, then that would be great. :D
