The Broccoli Project - Harvesting Seeds

The Broccoli Project was started as a way to teach our children about the life cycle of a broccoli plant. We want our children to grow up as good stewards of this earth and be enviromentally concious members of society. These seeds were saved from a plant from our winter harvest. We hung the entire plant upside-down in the garage for almost 2 months. Stay tuned as we plant our seeds and watch them grow!!!

Thanks for commenting. I am hoping to add another video as we plant and harvest our next season. The germination rate of these seeds were close to 100%!

Great video, and informative with the timing on when they are ready.

Also i think its great that you are getting your kids involved, what they will learn from this will do them a world of good, much better than having them sit infront of a tv. keep it up/

Did you harvest the seeds the same year or in the second year?

and did you also harvest the brocolli to eat or did you let the plant to grow for seeds?

This is my main question with almost all the vegetable eat also or let it grow for seeds LOL
