@Taligreen80 Fact of the matter is he left the seals because he butted heads with leadership. (he even says so himself) After that he went to work for blackwater didn't like the way things were going. He would do the same thing going on rants about how his boss was going to get him killed. Even still he hopped into a soft skinned vehicle and got lost with the rest of his team in the hottest hell hole in Iraq. In the military there's brave crazy and stupid. Going there without support is stupid

There are 19-20 year old Force Recon Marines, if you've ever read Generation Kill, and a 23 year old ex Force Recon Marine on this show. You didn't have to be in Battalion Recon for awhile, or be asked to join Force, MrOneInchPunch

Force Recon was disbanded with the creation of MARSOC. The MAGTF has to use Deep Recon Platoons for the old Force Recon mission.
Force wasn't like Delta either. You could actively pursue assignment to Force Recon without serving with Batt. Recon first. You just had to become an 0321 by going through the BRC first. If you didn't want to go to the other schools, or couldn't hack it you got assigned with Batt.
