This is awesome. Because Stottlemyre freaks out and yet still comes off as the more likeable guy here. Contrast with Tommy Lasorda's Kingman/Bevacqua outpourings, which just come across as shitheaded.

Yes. I was at this game. It was in 1995 and the A's were playing the Brewers. Stottlemyre had a 3-2 count with bases loaded and he threw one on the outside corner that was not called a strike. He was really upset. Next batter hit a double to clear bases!

I REALLY wish that this audio started at the reporter's question that initiated this meltdown, because it comes out of nowhere, and you can hear the reporter let out a plaintive, frightened squeal. But I'm glad to have found this after looking for so long.
