My favorite thing about this piece, and most Pärt: I can hear elements of hundreds of years of music all at once. The spare harmonies of the Renaissance, the counterpoint and weaving lines of the Baroque, the grace of the Classical era, the overwhelming emotion of the Romantics, and the edge-of-your-seat expectation of the 20th century's most daring composers. It fits everywhere all at once, yet is totally itself. I need another glass of wine...

    Wonderful performance.

[people discussing their opinion here must have bigger egos than they have sense of what music really is (for)]

I love this!& Vadim Repin, on violin, and Nikolai Lugansky join Keith Jarrett and others who performed this piece so beautifully.

I love this piece. The a minor triad has relentless presence in the tintinnabular voice, but the whole V/iv leaning towards d minor atmosphere and the C-sharps give the a major triad equal prominence. It seems as though major and minor are brothers, or fratres.
