Well, someone who posted can't understand why a person would want to use this. Allow me to explain. I have arthritis. I can't use a manual can opener. Is that a good enough reason for you?

the woman in the video is doing it wrong -- she should let go of the opener once it starts.

i guess one could argue that it's safer than a regular can opener (no sharp edges). though yeah, i agree it's annoying that it's battery operated.

I just saw the advert for this on the television and I believe it is the most pointless device I have ever seen. Being able to open a can automatically in today's society isn't something I deem to be a real achievement, yet for some strange reason there are so many people who do. In fact I find it rather sad that people in general have developed an attitude of laziness towards simple tasks.

AND you need a new set off batteries for every can!
