I don't think we'll ever see a round from Mayweather like this one. But from Pacquiao, I would not be surprised.

this fight is unbelievable, and both guys had guts to just start swinging from the start. Usually guys work into this, but to start at the beginning takes two men who have guts and confidence in thier power. What a round! Incredible. I do not think it is possible to have another opening round like this ever again. I know it has not happened since.

True, but they were blown up welterweights that would have destroyed anyone since 1987 through today. That includes Hopkins and Jones who are natural middleweights

I don't think you can say thast Hopkins and Jones would get "destroyed" by any of the guys Hagler fought, or even Hagler himself. Jones and Hopkins are ATGs like anyone else, and would have given these guys tough fights at the very least. Some would say prime Jones beats anyone at 160 in history (including SRR).

its a shame boxing isn't anywhere near like this anymore, so exciting!!! looks like hearns had a really good solid jab, i dont really know much about these fighters, who was defending the title? was it a welterweight bout? didnt they both step up to middle weight later in there careers?

azzakean, Hagler was defending his 3 belts. It was a middleweight fight for undisputed champion. Hearns was the contender, but he also held the super welterweight title, which was not at stake. During this first round, Hearns broke his right hand on Haglers face lol. He lost his big punch after that, and Hagler dropped him in the 3rd.

I didn't know about the broken hand. As I have posted before, that group of boxers was priceless.
