I had to skip ahead a few times in this vid, because the entire battle is like 20 mins of repetitive wankery.
Setup:
Bartz - Freelancer; back row.
Lenna - Freelancer; back row.
Galuf - Blue Mage; back row.
Faris - Freelancer; back row.
Weapons:
Bartz - Silver Harp
Lenna - Silver Harp
Galuf - Dagger
Faris - Flame Bow
Alright, this setup is basically designed to make this battle impossible to lose. However, there is still need for explanation. :P
First off, your entire party should be wearing Flame Rings. Have Bartz and Lenna attack a Rocket Launcher with harps. These guys can use Missile, which takes off roughly 3/4 of your hp. Wait for one of them to use Missile on Galuf before ending this fight (they are garunteed to), When Galuf gets hit by Missile, you can either kill off Galuf or keep him there to help kill one of the Rocket Launchers. Have Faris attack along with Bartz and Lenna.
These guys can also use Rocket Punch, which takes off about 1/3 (?) of your hp, and confuses you. This is why Galuf has a dagger equipped (so he can attack somebody who's confused, and still hit 0, or attack a party member when HE'S confused, and not hit anything), and Faris has a Flame Bow equipped (healing other members when confused), and Bartz and Lenna have harps (read below).
Now first, the harps...
The harps start out with high damage, and then deal increasingly low damage until it's nothing. I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK it deals a certain percent of the enemy's current HP, or perhaps a large fraction of what it hit the previous time on that enemy only. Either way, when they start hitting low in this battle, the Rocket Launcher is almost dead.
Another interesting thing about harps is that they hardly take off any hp when they hit a party member (I really don't know why), which is why they are really suitable for this battle.
Ok, so back to the actual battle. If you decided to keep Galuf alive to help with the first Rocket Launcher, you can have him use Flame Thrower to finish it off, then kill him afterwards.
On the second Rocket Launcher, when the harps start hitting really low, you can switch Faris' Flame Bow with a Thunder Bow, and finish the cunt off nice and quick before he can Rocket Punch Faris.
ALTERNATE STRATEGY:
'A' Button.
Ok, good. And yeah... that made no sense to me either. XD

Correct about the harps. The only one that can actually kill is the Apollo's Harp. Not sure why your characters barely take any damage though since it should be a little higher.
