Tame whitetail deer invades turkey hunting party

In 1993, my father had some friends who took a video camera on a turkey hunting expedition. While scouting for gobblers, they saw quite a few deer, which is common for Tennessee. What was NOT common was the deer wearing a dog collar that walked directly to them to investigate exactly what they were doing. They never found out where it came from or where it went afterwards.

My mother's neighborhood adopted a baby deer found near her dead mother. she was a sight to see - there are pictures of her playing frisbee with kids. I treasure my time with her. She wore a big red collar to identify she was tame, but it wasn't hard to figure out when she tried to climb in your truck. Unfortunately, a neighborhood crazy called her over and shot her dead because her was angy at his neighbor. And that is the up and downside of taming a deer.

actually its law to put a neon orange collar on any tamed deer. or hand raised deer. so and it is illeagal to shoot them. thats why they wear the collars.

@staynersfinest I know the family that keeps this deer and it always goes back their farm. The collar is to show hunters that should not be shot.

@LittoMoon you shouldnt domestically raise deer n e way they grow too dependent on humans and their chances of survival are low, the deer population is booming without humans raising them but with humans hunting them it stays under control

shame on the person who put a collar on this wild animal..over time this animal will grow and the collar will not loosen itself
