The original 2001 Soran Bushi aka The Fisherman's Dance tutorial

When viewing this tutorial, movements are to be done opposite of the screen, not mirrored, which is why you see 右手 (Right Hand) and 左手 (Left Hand) on the screen.

The dance is broken up into 6 parts
1. Opening 0:06
1a. Chorus 1:29
2. Bow and Arrow/Crab 1:54
3. Hand Slaps 3:27
4. Monkey and Crane 5:23
5. Horse 7:11
6. Ending 9:03

Note: They never taught the Bow & Arrow/Crab portion of the dance.

  • Thank you, I found the download at foot of page later! I might try a simplified version of this dance with some kiddies at school! It is so sharp, amazing to watch! thanks again!

  • @triciageorge I think the kids will love it. It's such a fun and energetic dance that once you get into it, you just want to finish it. From the outside it looks a bit cheesy, but performing it is a blast.

  • who is doing this version of the song/music? It's much more funky than anything on amazon?

  • @triciageorge This is by Takio Ito. It's more of a live version because the CD version of the song has an extended beginning and an extra segment.

  • Wow thanks for the tutorial! now i get to do this for my class performance <3

  • @MsMarinaAbdullah You're welcome. I hope to see your performance.
