After many years of bring a schoolhouse, the Waverly Hills Sanatorium was used to house patients stricken with Tuberculosis. It is no longer in use, and is supposedly haunted by those who perished from the disease. There were approximately 8,212.

  • The hospital was actually built for TB patients. It was out in the country where there was a constant breeze which was believed to help the patients and it was far from the city to try to keep the disease from spreading. The death toll was actually an astonishing 60,000. There was a tunnel that was built to move supplies through but so many patients were dying that they did begin to use it for the bodies so other patients wouldn't see them being removed to help keep up the moral.
