Welcome! This is Heroes of Might and Magic I full walkthrough. The movie comes without music and sound, because its recorded as time lapse - its 190% of regular Heroes 1 speed. I have choosen Lord Alamar army because this is the most versalite army in entire game. Please post some comments about mine run, I very appreciate it. :))

General tips on Heroes 1 strategy:
1. Remember that there are no marketplaces at all. Don't waste your time getting unuseful resources, because you won't trade them anyway.
2. Use AI dumbness everytime. They are moving in some patterns, its quite easy to find out those patterns.
3. Don't try to build superior army in this game. AI Heroes LOVE to split armies, so you won't need superior hero with for example 10 dragons, 40 hydras, 90 griffons, 100+ gargoyles when you have to deal with 20 AI heroes with starting armies.
4. Remember that dragons are immune to all spells and phoenixes are immune to elemental rain. Try to combine those facts and use it as advantange.
5. Try to not cast spell before enemy hero does, because you may end with 40 berserked hydras that wipe out your army.
6. Try to find out combat pattern, its quite easy. Initiative depends on speed, and games flips sides each battle round.
7. Never take experience from chests. In Heroes 1 levels don't yield much bonus, its better to have that 1,500 or 2,000 gold coins instead of level up.

Scenario 05 "Castle Ironfist"
We are entering harder part of game. You must change your feeling about enemies - many heroes with crappy armies are gone - enemies have very strong armies here, and will wipe out you when you won't consider them as enemies.
Basically, you have two cities on start, immediately build castle in second town and build up TWO towns. You will NEED big army, but you have some time. The enemy doesn't like to enter portal-gate on west shore, but there is another problem - few tiles north from your main city, there is a knight village. AI will eventually conquer it, build castle and shipyard which means that your main castle is falling within 3 days, and thats problem because on this map you cannot afford defending your cities, you must consolidate big army.
You have 4 towns on your part of map, build magic guild until you get dimension door and start conquering by DD-ing through river (as I did in movie). In this way, you can quickly recover army by DD-ing back to your main city. You will need to battle about 8-10 very strong heroes so don't waste your units, use your brain and tactics to win battles with as few loses as you can afford. If you are playing Alamar like me, remember that your troubles are over when you have dragons+armageddon. You should then take hero with biggest spell power and armageddon everything till dies. Dragon hero is especially good when attacking towns - paladins and cavaliers are behind castle walls and you can armageddon them for 400+ damage per turn without worrying about your dragons. Remember that dragon is strong creature, but it is NOT indestructible. Unit of 30 paladins will wipe out your 5 dragons within one or two turns, so you are warned.
Remember that your starting area is protected (it needs long time to get there for AI) so build castle in every town on your side. After few weeks you won't have to care about money.
Try to not lose any experienced heroes, its better to run away and buy hero from tavern than losing spell power 10 warlock. After killing about 10 enemy heroes, you will see that their force starts to deplete, then you have to concentrate on controlling map and attacking.
After you take all of cities on their continent, you will have to Dimension Door or take boat from eastern castle to reach final enemy. It is immoble, but his army is very strong! Buy all your troops and head for enemy. You can get one hero with only dragons+armageddon to weaken enemy and then second hero with rest of army to kill enemy.
If last battle is too hard for you, wait few weeks - enemy has only one city and you have two so you will slowly gain advantange in creatures.

Strategy3: take my hero's a bit away from my castle, enemy build a ship and come to take emty castle, CRUSH HIM!, take ship, attack.
Result:success? now it seems a battle without end, when attacking i take DD-ing and defeat a hero, but in the next hero i must flee, the enemy retakes town and attack me, i beat him and attack again.. and so on... very frustrating

Strategy2:wait for the enemy's ship, kick enemy hero's butt, take his ship and attack
Result:FAILED! the enemy sees that i have a big army in my town so instead of build a ship uses the portal-gate that he don't "like" crushes my towns on south(shit) takes my sulfur mine(SHIT! no more dragons!) i can deal with him but now i'm weak and he builds the ship....i'm fucked...

I restarted this scenario FIVE times and still don't get dimension door, not lucky, so i started to think about stategies without dimension door...
Strategy1:Use the portal-gate on west shore, seems to be the "normal" way to the enemy...
Result:FAILED!it's a pretty long trip, and i must take all my armies to make it profitable, then the enemy can build a ship and crush my towns.
