Kungfubadboy & I were buzzing a camera I set on the edge of the runway to get low pass footage. Even though the angle wasn't great, we did manage to get some footage. This is both onboard my P-47 and ground footage. Hot weather causes the motor and battery to work harder, so flight times are reduced as a result. When your timer goes off, you better be landing quick! Kungfu's timer went off (and mine did shortly after), and on his first approach a guy was leisurely recovering his plane from the runway. So Kungfu had to go around. Second & final approach, a guy who never called landing, was coming in from the opposing direction. Kungfu came in, the other guy went around, and I'm circling to land with a minute past my timer (I edited out that portion to save time). My first approach was too hot. As I aborted the landing, I lost power from a well drained battery. I was unaware I lost power until I went full throttle, put the gear up, and the plane started to stall to the left (you can hear the motor peter out as the gear goes up). I somehow managed to 180 and get her down safely. Lucky Day!
@Unikorn1 LOL! Awe come on Uni, she's in one piece! :) I'm definitely putting flaps on her now. Your turn to post a video. And hurry up so I can post my night flights with the Slow Stick. ;)
