  • hi i've got a peugeot 106 1.5 diesel zest 2... I was just wondering where your ecu is?

  • @rizwankhan3786 I have no ecu. My Peugeot 106 1.5 diesel is one of the older models. ;)

  • I have one of these. If its serviced regularly how many miles can I exepct the engine to do?

  • @thestrid82 If your car is serviced regularly and if you drive carefully, you can expect about 186,000 miles (300.000 kilometres). I have seen such cars, which even had a mileage of 200,000 miles. The diesel from Peugeot are very robust.

  • @rizwankhan3786

there's no ecu on psa 1.5d engine, older or newer models, no one got ecu..

there's an asian car model actually using this engine with turbo from factory, but even the turbo works without ecu, it's a fixed geometry turbo

  • @siorys Thanks. I dont know how it was driven before I recieved it at 10 000 miles but it seems pretty sweet although very slow. I hardley ever take it above 3000 rpm and most of the time when Im on the motorway its doing 2500 at 60mph.

  • proper sound - diesel 4ever

  • @rizwankhan3786 Diesel 106's don't have ECUs. the only control unit as such is the one for the door locks etc above the battery (facelift models)

    I've got a zest 2 1.5D

  • @thestrid82 I say this becuase I am fairly poor, not rich and plus it helps the environment to sue cars until they are of no use.

  • @siorys Thanks very much , I bought it around 98,000 miles and it was in great condition inside and out, had regular service history, although cannot predict how it had been driven. For the last 10,000 miles (it has now done 110,000) I only ever rev up to 2,000 revs and I keep it at 60 on the motorway which is 2,500 revs. If it lasts another 30,000 miles Ill be pleased.

It is very crude and slow from start, but good on fuel economy and easy to drive, wish they still make this engine! cheers
