What a gem by Capcom!

Capcom always did wonderful jobs with their Disney licenses and Aladdin was no different. A really great platform game that used really well the original movie as inspiration, even if I did have a hard time on some fo the flying carpet levels.

Its also very fun to compare this one to the Genesis one, by Shinny. Its the perfect "video game made in Japan" vs "video Game made in the USA" debate.

I was never able to figure out wich one is better, so, I own both. :)

  • ...did they actually read the script?

The lines seem directly ripped from the movie. Now THAT's a good sign!

  • Aladdin is a good game, and both versions stand out from the enormous pile of shit that movie games usually represent.

Yes, the SNES doesn't have the animations nor the challenges of the Mega Drive version, but so? It's still a fun game, the music sounds better than the MIDI tracks and the controls are more fluent. It's a good example in which better graphics don't make a better game.

I'd stick with the SNES by a narrow margin, even though I also like the Mega Drive one too.

  • My snes and this game still works, but I never can get past the lava level lol

  • I miss this gaame.

  • @PhillyTacoNYC of churning out shit like Marvel vs Capcom 3

  • I don't know what the people who say the Genesis game is better are smoking, because in the Genesis game, it played music from the film in wrong parts (Prince Ali in the first level, WTH?) And when did he fight Azim in the movie? Oh that's right, HE DIDN'T. Because if you actually watched the film, Azim got eaten by the cave of wonders and DIED in the beginning before Aladdin's first scene in the film. Capcom did a great job here. If only they were as awesome today as they were back then instead

  • @clocksonfire I agree!!!

  • @imILLadvised Don't believe the hype.

  • @emissionspectra No it isn't.

  • Atleast I know that i wasn't the only one who had a hard time with the carpet scene.

oh.. and yes, Jafar in human form is much harder to beat than the snake form.

  • i grew up with snes and aladdin
