Test-run with my self-made new mainsail on my Americas Cup Areva Challenge in the Netherlands.
Light wind circumstances, about 2 Bft.

update 13-02-2011: one of the battens broke during transportation. I made a new one and also adjusted the trimming of main-sail and jib.
A new video (try to make a better quality) will come after the next sailing day (hopefully with more wind!)

  • Martin, your jib boom is too on the center boat axe, and it closes the air for the mainsail. The distance between mainmast and jib boom must to be between 80mm (light airs) and 65mm (heavy airs).

The boat is very very nice looking compliments!!!!

  • Matt,

Thanks mate, for your advices and compliments.

I know about closing the mainsail boom. That's the problem; sailing and filming at the same time and just having two hands. For the jib; I'm still figuring out the (almost) perfect trimming.
