Turkana insecurity

The government is warning that it will use maximum force to end attacks along the common border of Turkana and West Pokot counties. The Rift Valley PC who chaired a peace meeting at Sigor, told the communities to respect security agents posted there. Early this week, raiders carried out two attacks against a police post along the Pokot/Turkana border.

@Kanyaugatiejagwo, lol at your jina. I agree with you. Kenyatta was an awesome freedom fighter but a pathetic power hungry president who put Kenya in the position it is today. We needed Mandela like leadership, not MOI and Kibaki like leadership.

I don't like Jomo Kenyatta the founding president but his words about these arid areas were prophetic. Kenyatta once warned about marginalization of these communities, and fears that they would be left behind by the rest of the world as it developed and indeed everything he said has come to pass. Schools and industry should have been built here a long time ago, to give these folk an alternative way of life...but decades of being ignored have proved fatal...and now we reap what we sowed...wars!
