Looks like a whole truckload pf filthy Hollywood crap.
Just read the book which is quite good, although sometimes clichés-packed. They took out all the good and ended up with this...

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! I got the DVD thrown in when I bought a few DVD's while in Hong Kong in 2007!! Wonderful movie - but I can see why it did not sell: Crowe plays a real money-whore that nobody likes - and he inherits a vineyard – that makes the best wine ever (undercover) – he makes more money and falls in love with the beautiful towns girl that nobody can get!! COME ON - not even in Hollywood does this happen!!! Well, except for this movie!!! I still think it was wonderful!!!
