Made in Japan by Cosina. Distagon is really a good design, I love the Distagon 24/2 for ZA mount made by SONY.

Haha! I like the German humour (plastic only for packaging!)

I have seen only high praise for this lens from those in the know - a great achievement for so wide a lens.

It's strange on expensive vehicles when they come to gas.

They need super unleaded gas while all those cheap vehicles can on just about everything.

Really, German's optics are good but the Korean are catching up on them quick. The Japanese has passed the German.

Carl Zeiss needs Sony because they can't built AF lenses for cameras.

Think of Carl Zeiss like Pocket Wizard. Both are having a hard time to stay alive.

Hyundai has 10 years/100,000 miles warranty, which smoked Porsche 959. Even Japanese cars couldn't match with the warranty.

My 959 & M7 need daily repairs, so I sold one at a lost.

Still holding on my M7 :o)

This lens has been designed in Germany. Regarding cars: Have you ever compared a Hyundai to a Audi, BMW, Mercedes or Porsche? If you like Hyundai, then take the Samyang. If you like Porsches, then take a Zeiss.

Save your hard earned money and go for the Samyang 14mm/2.8 lenses.

Just beautiful images with my ATG Canon EOS-1D C and ATG Canon EOS-1D X IR cameras.

First, Japan built & made better cars than Germany.

Now, Korea has surpassed Japan in cars and TVs.

    In photography, think Samyang.

    In TV, think Samsung.

    In autos, think Hyundai.

Aside from the "Made in Japan"; The one made in Germany will cost about 100% more, zeiss said the quality is the same. QA equipment is the same they use in Germany and its made in Germany.
