I liked many of the awards and glad to see Nolan get some recognition, but he was not the best director of the year and Inception was not even close to being the best film of the year. I wish the Kermode award for director would have gone to Dennis Villeneuve for Incendies or Derek Cianfrance for Blue Valentine.

@carldpatterson Indeed, Inception was his favourite film of the year, he said so when he presented Best Director to Chris Nolan.

Of course it's Inception, is there any genuine lovers of cinema that didn't think Inception was superb? I think not. OMG, Great choice for the lifetime achievement award - I had a Argento marathon just yesterday funny enough. Still have yet to see Tenebrae, it's the last of his films I have left to experience.
