My original cartridge does not have a chip, nor does the OEM replacement for my CLP-300. I have found one cartridge that did have a chip, but the toner did not work correctly. Are there differences in toners?

in toner, dont have diference. but the chip is necessery after de first cartridge.

for those who are asking:do i need a reset chip for CLP300? the answer is NO,

you don't need a reset chip.

all you need to do when the tonner is empty is: refill the powder inside as it is shown in the video and then remove the chip that you will find in cartridge and bingooooooooo,it works.this lazer printer works without a chip.i wish that might help
