@UberKrispy but the ball never hit the ground, and Beebe never established possession. It should have been an interception, so no fumble. Bad call by the refs.

If the ball is fumbled "as a consequence of his hitting the ground" then the ground caused the fumble and the play is over. In this case he never "made a football move" after catching it, he never got both feet down, never had possesion
