It doesn't really need to be on the charger over night because the screen shuts its self off wile you sleep. Also the Zune Hd has a great battery life I only have to charge it once a week after heavy use.

can the brightness be dark enough on the zune so you can sleep? for instance, i have a pretty dark room at night, and my zKicker clock is TOO bright so I have to like block the light with a book or something. I also have one of those Zune 80s so I can't get this alarm app. i want an HD though.

But this is another lame app by Zune. You need a dock and a speaker to use the alarm app. POINTLESS.
I have an alarm clock-so what does this do to make my life any easier?? If this device didn't sound so good playing music-mine would be in the landfill. This device has been a sad "iPod killer". That's why they are offering 12 months for the price of 10 months. It's days are numbered, unfortunately.
